The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology () placed eighth in the drill competition at the 9th Tertiary Cadet Corps Congress held at Ho Technical University, but its cadet leaders described the experience as highly rewarding.
“The congress was a valuable and transformative experience. It instilled important lessons in discipline, endurance, collaboration, and leadership,” said Cadet Senior Under Officer (CDT. S.U.O.) Kubinson Nana Kra Ankoh, General Second-in-Command of the Cadet Corps.
The congress, held from June 21–22, 2025, brought together cadet contingents from eight tertiary institutions across Ghana for drills, group tasks, and team-building exercises.
Participating institutions included , the University of Education, Winneba, the University of Cape Coast, the University of Mines and Technology, Accra Technical University, Takoradi Technical University, Koforidua Technical University, and Ho Technical University.
While did not top the rankings, the team emphasised the importance of the training received and the values of service and teamwork gained during the congress.
CDT. Ankoh presented the corps’ report to the Director of Student Affairs at , Professor Marian Asantewah Nkansah, who commended the cadets for their discipline and ongoing contributions to university activities.
The annual congress serves as a platform for cadets from various institutions to train, compete, and exchange knowledge. ’s delegation said the skills gained will serve as a foundation for future engagements.
