The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (黑料网官网) School of Business (KSB) has officially commenced a weeklong celebration of its 20th anniversary under the theme, 鈥20 Years of Excellence in Business Education: Building Capability and Resilience for Sustainable Development.鈥
At the opening ceremony, the Dean of KSB reflected on the School鈥檚 journey from its humble beginnings in 2005 with just eight lecturers and limited resources, to its current status as one of the university鈥檚 largest faculties, now boasting over 50 academic staff, including five full professors and 13 associate professors.
He announced a forward-looking strategy focused on four key pillars: promoting entrepreneurship to combat youth unemployment; embracing digital transformation; integrating sustainability, environmental, social and governance principles into business education; and enhancing student empowerment.
He acknowledged the contributions of key partners such as OmniBSIC Bank, who donated 30 computers and furniture for a Digital Learning Hub, and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), supported in establishing a Resource Centre equipped with 15computers and furniture. However, he noted that current facilities still fall short of the needs of over 8,000 students and appealed for further support.
鈥淲e require significant investment in IT infrastructure, equipment, software, and high-speed internet access to bring this vision to fruition,鈥 the Dean emphasized.
He extended a heartfelt invitation to corporate organizations, government agencies, alumni, donor institutions, and development partners to support this transformative vision.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson charged KSB to continue spearheading the University鈥檚 entrepreneurship agenda and ensure working with the other Colleges to make students Start-Ups the order of the day.
鈥樷樅诹贤偻 is looking up to KSB to continue to train Employers and not only Employees. May we recommit ourselves to excellence and innovation as we shape Africa鈥檚 next business leaders.鈥 she emphasized.

Alumnus of KSB, Ga Mantse and President of Ga Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, also reechoed the need for transformational leaders who are not satisfied with managing the status quo in Ghana.
鈥樷業n the world out there, you must be everything, including being exceptional to get high. KSB must not only equip students with employable skills but also build and develop their capacity to bounce back from setbacks to lead with courage in the face of adversity,鈥欌 he stated.
His Royal Majesty urged the KSB to deepen its engagement with traditional institutions, public and private sectors to work together to sharpen a new generation of leaders who are not only academically excellent but socially conscious, culturally grounded and development driven.
Encouraging students of KSB, he said, 鈥渢he world is waiting and hungry for your ideas and leadership, but before you lead others, cultivate the discipline to lead yourself with integrity and ambition.鈥欌
In his speech, Dr. Daniel McKorley, CEO of McDan Group, pointed out that Africa has a wealth of entrepreneurial talent but lacks a supportive ecosystem. He called for inclusive policies, better access to resources, and mentorship to empower young entrepreneurs.
He urged educational institutions to shift the focus from job-seeking to job creation, advocating for practical exposure and innovation labs to equip students with the skills needed to build businesses.
Furthermore, Dr. McKorley called on 黑料网官网 School of Business to champion entrepreneurship as a transformative force for Africa, encouraging students to embrace their potential and lead with courage and creativity.

Also addressing the gathering, Mrs. Hilda Nimo-Tieku, Managing Director of Jobberman Ghana, urged students to remain curious, adaptable, and committed to life-long learning to thrive in today鈥檚 rapidly evolving job market.
She emphasized that in the modern workplace, knowledge alone is no longer sufficient. 鈥淓mployers today are not just hiring qualifications, they are hiring mindsets, attitudes, and agility,鈥 she stated.
According to her, the real competitive advantage now lies in work readiness, the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, communicate effectively, and take initiative.
She challenged the KSB to evolve from a purely knowledge-based institution to one that builds practical capacity, equipping students not only with academic skills but with the resilience and versatility required in the real world.
